NEW DELHI: Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri met his Bhutanese counterpart Dasho Pema Lektup Dorji in Thimphu on Thursday, where the two sides co-chaired the 5th India-Bhutan Development Cooperation Talks and reviewed the progress and implementation of India-supported projects across multiple sectors under Bhutan’s 13th Five Year Plan.The Indian Embassy in Thimphu announced the meeting in a post on X, saying, “Foreign Secretary Shri Vikram Misri @VikramMisri and Foreign Secretary of Bhutan Dasho Pema Lektup Dorji co-chaired 5th India-Bhutan Development Cooperation Talks on Bhutan’s 13th Five Year Plan today.”

According to the embassy, the talks focused on assessing the implementation of development projects supported by India in diverse fields, reflecting the broad development partnership between the two neighbouring countries.The discussions were held in the Bhutanese capital as part of the regular bilateral development cooperation mechanism between India and Bhutan.The embassy added that “Bhutan appreciated India’s significant support and contribution to its development,” underscoring Thimphu’s acknowledgement of New Delhi’s role in supporting the country’s development priorities under the current five-year plan.
