Cardi B threatens to sue Trump advisor over Nicki Minaj 'bot' row: 'Show me where I’m affiliated'

Rapper Cardi B has threatened legal action against Alex Bruesewitz, an adviser to US President Donald Trump, after he alleged she had ties to a company linked to claims about a bot campaign involving fellow artist and rival Nicki Minaj. The dispute began with a now‑deleted post by Bruesewitz on X. Bruesewitz suggested that journalist Jason Beeferman, who brought attention to a report by tech firm Cyabra about an army of bots pushing #NickiMinaj’s latest conservative stance, was connected to Cardi B’s camp. Bruesewitz called Beeferman a “fake news hack” and claimed he “is partnered with Cardi B’s agent”.Cardi B denied any connection in an angry response on X. She wrote: “show me where I’m affiliated with this person or they affiliated to anybody that I work with… I don’t have no affiliation to Roc Nation you dumb ss!” The rapper also criticised the theory that her music label Roc Nation was part of the controversy, calling it “very ridiculous”.She continued: “The conspiracy theories with Roc Nation is getting very ridiculous…The fact that you work for the government and defaming my name with false allegations.. I’m going to f*cking sue you. Get familiar with my game!!!”Bruesewitz pushed back even after Cardi B deleted her post. He said she “immediately deleted her threat after I provided facts that her rep is, in fact, involved with the company that produced the @NICKIMINAJ ‘bot’ hoax! You didn’t have to delete it, Cardi.”Despite the legal threat, Cardi B maintained that she had no involvement with Cyabra’s data or the bot report. In a final post on X, she said: “See what happen when you involve me in sh*t that don’t have nothing to do with me? I get down to the GRISTLE of it!! And btw I am still gonna sue you, you wet dirty dog.”The clash follows another public controversy earlier in the same month, when Cardi B criticised Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) during a concert in Palm Desert, California. While performing, she urged fans to speak out against the agency’s actions, and at one point said: “B—h, if ICE come in here, we gon jump they a – ses.” She added that she had bear mace in the venue and declared: “They ain’t takin my fans, b—h.Trump supporter Bruesewitz condemned the comments, calling Cardi B a “disgusting person” and claiming she was trying to “incite violence against our ICE officers”.The exchange intensified after Bruesewitz reposted videos of Nicki Minaj, who has supported Trump administration events and was criticised by Cardi B in the past. Minaj attended Bruesewitz’s South Florida wedding earlier in the month. In response to Cardi B’s ICE remarks, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) posted on social media: “As long as she doesn’t drug and rob our agents, we’ll consider that an improvement over her past behaviour.”Cardi B has previously spoken openly about her past before fame, acknowledging she once drugged and robbed men while working as a stripper. She said at the time: “Whether or not they were poor choices at the time, I did what I had to do to survive.”
